Naomi Campbell is reportedly arrested

LONDON - Naomi Campbell was arrested after allegedly causing a disturbance outside a former boyfriend's home, a British newspaper reported Friday.

The Sun tabloid said police were called after Campbell, 36, arrived at the house in the early hours of July 10 seeking the return of some belongings.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed that a 36-year-old woman had been detained for breach of the peace after "reports of a woman causing a disturbance" in London's Belgravia district.

She was freed without charge several hours later. Police retrieved the belongings, "and the woman left the scene," the force said in a statement. "No further action will be taken."

Campbell's representatives did not immediately return calls seeking comment.

Campbell has a history of volatile behavior. Last month the London-born model appeared in a New York court to face allegations that she threw a cell phone at a maid in a dispute over a missing pair of jeans.

In 2003, the supermodel was sued by a former administrative assistant who said Campbell had thrown a phone at her during a tantrum.

In August 2004 Campbell and her maid came to blows, with the worker claiming the supermodel slapped her across the face. Campbell accused maid Millicent Burton of instigating the fight.

LONDON - Kate Moss is back at Burberry. The fashion house scrapped a campaign featuring the supermodel last year following tabloid accusations that she had used drugs.

Moss, 32, appears in a white lace trench coat at the center of Burberry's main autumn-winter 2006-2007 ad, one in a series launched Monday to celebrate the company's 150th anniversary.

The black-and-white ads, shot against London cityscapes by Mario Testino, feature British cultural icons and their offspring, including 1960s model Penelope Tree and actor Max Irons, son of
Jeremy Irons.

Burberry distanced itself from Moss in September, after The Daily Mirror published pictures of her allegedly using cocaine. The company dropped plans for her to appear in its fall 2005 campaign, and posters featuring Moss were removed from its flagship store.

Earlier this month, British prosecutors announced that Moss would not be charged over the tabloid claims, saying there was insufficient evidence.

Although Moss also lost contracts with Chanel, H&M and Gloria Vanderbilt after the photos were published, her career seems to have suffered no lasting damage.

After apologizing to "all the people I have let down" and visiting a rehab clinic in Arizona, she signed new modeling contracts and appeared on several magazine covers.

Burberry stressed in November that it had not severed ties with Moss.

ROME (AFP) - Veteran sex symbol Sofia Loren, first featured on magazine covers half a century ago, will appear for next year's Pirelli calendar dressed up only in diamond earrings.

The voluptuous Italian screen legend, who will celebrate her 72nd birthday on September 20, joins a galaxy of international female stars posing in the nude for the 2007 cult calendar, the Italian magazine Gente (People) reported Wednesday.

Others include Spain's
Penelope Cruz, Britain's
Naomi Watts, US star
Hilary Swank and France's Lou Doillon, the daughter of singer-actress Jane Birkin.

The calendar portraits of Loren taken by Dutch photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Winoodh Matadin are "very beautiful and will add to the myth of La Loren," said Loren's close friend Silvia Damiani, one of the privileged few to have already caught a glimpse of the latest Loren revelations.

The newspaper Corriere della Sera Wednesday published test versions of the closely guarded pictures showing the star stretched out on a bed -- but fully dressed in a black outfit and wrapped in a sheet.

Among the Naples star's screen triumphs was an appearance in a transparent negligee in her 1964 movie "Marriage Italian Style," and her striptease in front of fellow Italian Marcello Mastroianni in "Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow," reprised 30 years later in director
Robert Altman's "Pret a Porter" (Ready to Wear).

Her Indian summer in the nude has divided Italy's showbusiness world.

"Sofia Loren is an icon, she can do whatever she likes," said statuesque actress
Valeria Marini, herself a veteran of the nude photography front.

But screen director Gianni Boncompagni thought otherwise. "I don't see the use of it," he was quoted as saying.

And Sofia herself?

"You have to be firm about it when you make up your mind to do something you like and you've been thinking about doing for a long time," she told Gente, which reports that Loren has just a completed a health cure.

Born Sofia Scicolone on September 20, 1934, she and her single mother lived in abject poverty in the war-torn slums of Naples.

At 14 she began entering area beauty contests, later becoming a model and appearing in a number of uncredited bit parts in films.

After winning a beauty contest in Rome, she was signed to a film contract by producer Carlo Ponti, whom she later married.

Burberry dropping Kate

LONDON (AFP) - Upmarket clothes and accessories chain Burberry said it was dropping Kate Moss from an advertising campaign following allegations the supermodel used cocaine.
The announcement came a day after Swedish-based fashion retail giant H and M said it was scrapping a promotional campaign also featuring Moss, 31, following the claims in British tabloid newspapers.

On Wednesday, French fashion house Chanel said it would keep a current advertising campaign using Moss.

"Since last week we have been in discussions with Kate Moss's representatives," a Burberry spokesman said in a statement.

"Kate has worked successfully with Burberry on a number of assignments over the years. However, we have never had a contract with Kate, or any other model, to be the 'face' of Burberry.

"At the current time we had one project scheduled with Kate for this autumn and in the circumstances both Kate and Burberry have mutually agreed that it is inappropriate to go ahead," he said.

"Kate has always been a fantastic model and highly professional for Burberry. We are saddened by her current circumstances and hope she overcomes her problems as soon as possible. We wish Kate all the best."

A week ago Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper published grainy video camera stills which appeared to show Moss using cocaine in a music studio where her rock-star lover Pete Doherty -- a self-confessed drug addict -- was recording with his band.

Other newspapers took up the story eagerly, with tabloid titles running a series of lurid allegations about Moss involving sex and drugs in the following days.

On Tuesday, H and M said it was cancelling a planned campaign with Moss, saying to do otherwise would be "inconsistent with H and M's clear dissociation with drugs".

Chanel said it was continuing as planned with an on-going advertising campaign using Moss scheduled to last until the end of October, but that it had no further plans to work with her again "in the the near future".

Adding to Moss's woes, police in London have said they will look into the drug allegations.

A Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said assistant commissioner Tarique Ghaffur "has reviewed the matter and has asked officers from the specialist crime directorate to look at reports, as highlighted in a national newspaper".
